Islamabad, January 9, 2016 – American Ambassador to Pakistan David Hale and members of the United States Marines Corps donated nearly 500 items to children from the SOS Children’s Village in Islamabad at a ceremony at the American Embassy in Islamabad on Saturday, January 9. More than 50 children from the shelter joined Ambassador Hale and the Marines for the event. American and Pakistani employees of the embassy donated to the program over the past two months, giving gifts ranging from toys to shoes and clothing. The Marines collected donations under the international campaign, Toys For Tots.
SOS Children’s Village Islamabad is a home and school for nearly 100 orphaned children from the Islamabad area. The village is part of a network of facilities spanning across 12 districts in Pakistan.
