Health Alert – Update #8 Restoration of Limited PIA Flights

Health Alert – U.S. Embassy Islamabad, Pakistan (April 2, 2020)

Location:  Pakistan (country-wide)

Event: Update #8 – Restoration of Limited PIA Flights

The Pakistan government approved for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to restore limited flight operations between Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore and  various countries to include flights to Canada and the United Kingdom.  On April 1, the Pakistan government extended flight restriction for inbound international flights until April 11, 2020, 11:59 p.m.(Pakistan Standard Time), but will permit limited PIA flights to/from Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore

For U.S. citizens remaining in Pakistan that want to return to the United States, please contact PIA or your preferred travel arranger to inquire about outbound flights.  PIA does not fly directly to the United States; however, you may be able to use them to connect to the United States.

For those U.S. citizens confirmed for the April 3 U.S. government-assisted flight, this flight is confirmed.  Please follow the directions provided to you by phone and email. Unfortunately, we are unable to add additional passenger to this flight.

The U.S. Mission in Pakistan continues to explore other possibilities for U.S. citizens to depart Pakistan.  Information for U.S. citizens in Pakistan is disseminated via the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP).  Register and check email often for any information about future flights.
