Remarks at Tragic Death of Amjad Iqbal Shah

Consul General Harkenrider: We are extremely saddened by the death today of Amjad Iqbal Shah, a local contract guard working at the U.S. Consulate General in Lahore. Mr. Shah suffered serious injuries when his firearm discharged while he was on duty.  He was immediately taken to a local hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.  Mr. Shah, an employee of Security Management Services (SMS), had been working at the Consulate General for over four years, had an excellent work history, and was a well-respected member of our team. We offer our deepest condolences to Mr. Shah’s family.
