Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Threat against Medical Workers in Pakistan

The U.S. government is aware of a threat to foreign medical workers in Pakistan, who may be targeted for kidnapping or assassination.

The U.S. Embassy in Pakistan urges U.S. citizens to vary their times and routes when traveling anywhere in Pakistan, and to avoid travel patterns to such locations that would allow other persons to predict when and where they will be.  Any U.S. citizen who feels unsafe should contact the local police and/or depart Pakistan immediately.

U.S. citizens are reminded that there is an active Travel Warning for Pakistan issued on April 12, 2017.  U.S. citizens are urged to defer all non-essential travel to Pakistan.
