On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I send warm wishes and congratulations to Pakistan as you commemorate 68 years of independence.
The United States and Pakistan have a broad and deep partnership based on shared values and interests.
As Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah said, “If we want to make this great State of Pakistan happy and prosperous, we should wholly and solely concentrate on the well-being of the people.”
The United States remains committed to working with the people of Pakistan in achieving the stable, secure, and prosperous nation that Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah envisioned for Pakistan in 1947.
On this Independence Day, please know that the United States stands with the people of Pakistan in the spirit of partnership and friendship – today and for years to come. Yaume Azadi Mubarak.
