U.S. Consulate Applauds KFC Scholarship, Recognizes U.S. Business Partnership to Increase Economic Growth in Pakistan
Karachi – U.S. Consul General Robert Silberstein applauded KFC which, in partnership with the Orange Tree Foundation, launched a new scholarship fund to assist students in completing their undergraduate or graduate degrees from HEC-recognized universities.
Silberstein noted that despite the disruptions caused by COVID-19, the American business community has continued to help thousands of students and their families across Pakistan attain an education by supporting educational initiatives such as The Citizens Foundation (TCF), Deaf Reach, and DEWA Academy. Moreover, the American Business community directly sustains over one million jobs in Pakistan and accounts for nearly $4 billion in economic activity.
Silberstein remarked, “We commend KFC’s commitment to serving as a responsible corporate entity in Pakistan because we believe that both the government and the private sector must work together to foster sustainable and inclusive economic growth.”
