Lahore, June 15: – U.S. Embassy Chargé d’affaires a.i. Lesslie Viguerie highlighted the importance of the Punjab region and reaffirmed the value of the U.S.-Pakistan partnership during his June 13-15 trip to Lahore.
Chargé Viguerie called on Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Pervez Elahi and also met with civil society and media representatives.
“The United States is committed to working with the government and people of Pakistan to ensure a prosperous, peaceful, and stable future,” he said. “It’s an honor to visit Punjab and witness first-hand the diversity and strength of its people and explore its rich history and culture.”
Chargé Viguerie also visited the Wazir Khan Mosque, site of a U.S. government-funded renovation project, which was made possible through the U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation, an initiative to protect at-risk cultural treasures.
