On September 26, the Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, (INL) transferred two Toyota Hilux pickup trucks to the Frontier Constabulary (FC) unit that provides security to Consulate Peshawar.  The pickup trucks, valued at 4,140,360 Rupees, will enhance the FC’s operational capacity to maintain an effective provincial law and order regime. Hayatabad District Police Officer, Gul Said Afridi, represented the FC and Regional Security Officer John Bush represented Consulate Peshawar at the handover.

INL is focused on building the capacity of the government of Pakistan to provide justice and security to its people. This is accomplished through border security programs, law enforcement reform and capacity building. INL’s continuing support to FC, provides the unit with body armor, office equipment, communications tools, and transportation including ambulances, motor bikes, and trucks.  INL also supports the FC with accommodation and barracks construction in the Spina Thana police compound.
