U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Visits Islamabad

Islamabad, July 21, 2014 – U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Ambassador James Dobbins visited Islamabad on July 21st to discuss the United States’ commitment to Pakistan and the future of the region as a whole. While here, he met with Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Policy and National Security Sartaj Aziz, as well as Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif to discuss a wide range of domestic and international issues.

Ambassador Dobbins appreciated the opportunity to meet with Pakistani leadership. The Ambassador reaffirmed the importance of the U.S.-Pakistani relationship to regional stability and agreed to continue to work together in order to build a stronger partnership to advance our common objectives.
