Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan (SRAP) Daniel Feldman concluded his first visit to Pakistan since being appointed to the position of Special Representative in August 2014. SRAP Feldman met with senior Pakistani government officials, political leaders, and members of civil society to discuss a wide range of bilateral topics, including ongoing U.S. development programs and regional cooperation and security.
During his meetings with Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Policy and National Security Sartaj Aziz, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, SRAP Feldman reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to enhancing its relations with Pakistan, discussed opportunities for bilateral coordination to promote economic growth and regional stability, and explored ways to forge a stronger U.S.-Pakistan partnership by working together to achieve common objectives.
